Short answer....I googled it.

I was going from and older HD to new HD external. It was several years ago and both file systems were still being used. The old one was NTFS, the new one was FAT 32. The steps to format the new one in NTFS was pretty straight forward and it didn't take too long.

The other thing to check is to see if the files are "Hidden" or are Read Only/write protected. Given that you can see them to copy them it sounds like they aren't. Right click on the folder, select "Properties". Down at the bottom you will see "Attributes" with a block for Read Only, Hidden and Archive. If there is a solid black check for Read Only or Hidden, deselect it. You may get a prompt asking if you want to apply it to subordinate folders and files - if so say yes.

That should work.

Can you select a single music file track and copy it successfully?

Couldn't get to a single file either with the way it was.

I'm going to have to start over, do another sync with my old computer. I deleted the external, tried one show, and it worked this time. Not sure what happened to all those files to make them not want ot budge.

Thanks a lot for the help Mando. You're a good man.
